Ways to transfer the eSIM

Two alternative methods are used to transfer the eSIM from one phone to another. Usually, the methods vary according to devices such as Android or iPhone.

  • The first method is through your service provider, the provider gives you the instructions to do the process via the eSIM app or the website. You provide the information about your new phone and install the embedded SIM.
  • You can switch to the new device through QR code installation. Confirm that your service provider allows you to use the same QR code for another installation. If allowed, install the eSIM to your new device following the same older way. 


How to transfer eSIM to a new Device?

If you want to transfer your eSIM from Android to Android, contact your eSIM provider. You can follow the steps

  • Let your carrier know, you want to transfer the eSIM.
  • Provide them with complete information about your new device, like phone number, account number, and IMEI.
  • Follow the carrier instructions to do it remotely, you can visit the provider's physical location in case of any query.

Transfer eSIM card through QR Code

How to transfer eSIM to a new iPhone?

There are two ways to transfer the eSIM to a new iPhone via Bluetooth and QR code.


Transfer via Bluetooth

Most iOS devices allow the transfer of eSIM via Bluetooth. The steps are discussed here.

  • Turn on the Bluetooth on devices
  • Go to the Settings of a new device
  • Tap Cellular > Set eSIM
  • Select the option to Transfer From Another iPhone
  • Wait a moment, a number will shown on your screen
  • Confirm the command, wait to process 2 to 5 minutes
  • Complete your Mobile Operator Tariff Plan Set up on the new device
  • You will receive the message Operation Completed 
  • The number will shown on the new device and deleted from the older one

Transfer via QR Code

To do this, get your eSIM QR code from the mobile operator when applying for a virtual SIM card.

  • Delete eSIM from the older device.
  • Open the older device Settings and Delete the Cellular Plan.
  • Go to the Settings of the new iPhone.
  • Tap Cellular and select Add Cellular Plan.
  • Scan the QR code by your new device camera.
  • Follow the further prompts to activate a number.

Transferring eSIM from Android to iPhone

To transfer your eSIM from Android to iPhone, follow these steps:

  • Deactivate electronic SIM from your Android device.
  • Open your Android Settings and select Network & Internet.
  •  Mobile network > Advanced > eSIM .
  • Tap Deactivate the SIM.
  • Go to your iPhone Settings > Cellular > Add Cellular Plan.
  • Enter the QR Code of your eSIM.
  • Wait to activate the virtual SIM on the iPhone.

  1.  Before transferring, ensure that your old and new phones support eSIM functions. Most modern smartphones offer eSIM support, but it's always a good idea to double-check.    
  2. Don’t click the eSIM delete button, if you do so, your eSIM will be deleted from the device and lose its functions.
  3. Complete the whole installation process in a way, don’t leave it in the midway.
  4. Use a valid email ID to get the instructions from the provider.
