What Is Le Guess Who?

Le Guess Who? is a four days international music festival built around discovery. Instead of placing every artist on stages inside one site, the festival spreads through Utrecht.

Shows take place at established music venues, theaters, churches, galleries, clubs, and other spaces around the city.

Artist curation is another big part of its identity. Selected musicians and artists create their own programs, bringing personal influences, collaborators, and lesser-known acts into the festival.

That changes how you approach the lineup. You don't need to recognize every name before arriving. Picking an unfamiliar artist is almost part of the deal.

Le Guess Who? 2026 Lineup: Curators, Artists and Programs

The 2026 program is huge. Trying to memorize every artist probably won't help.

Start with three or four names you refuse to miss. Then look at the curator programs and special projects around them.

The four official guest curators for 2026 are Aja Monet, KMRU, Los Thuthanaka, and Tropical Fuck Storm. Each brings a different set of artists and influences into the program.

Some notable names across the wider lineup include Dirty Three, Grouper, Juana Molina, Tortoise, Kelsey Lu, Loraine James, Maryam Saleh, Horse Lords and Etran de Lair

You can explore the official Le Guess Who? 2026 lineup before building your personal festival schedule.

The official lineup also includes special appearances linked to 24 HOUR DUB, COSMOS and other festival programs.

The sixth edition takes place on November 7 and 8, 2026, with performances, exhibitions, communal dinners, talks and participatory events across Utrecht.

Then there is 24 HOUR DUB. The program runs continuously at KABUL a GoGo from 4 PM on Saturday, November 7, until 4 PM on Sunday, November 8.

The wider program includes artists such as Scientist, Mad Professor & Sista Aisha, Mutabaruka, and other dub-focused performers.

Where Is Le Guess Who? 2026 Held and Key Information

There is not one single Le Guess Who? festival ground. You can see the venue here:

Venue

What to Know

TivoliVredenburg

Major festival hub and standard wristband collection point

EKKO

Established Utrecht music venue

De Helling

Festival venue with an 18+ age rule

dB's

KABUL a GoGo

WAS.

Many central locations are close enough to combine during one evening. Still, don't assume every next set is around the corner.

Check the venue before leaving your current show. A short gap can disappear fast when you add walking, queues, and getting out of a crowded room.

How to Get to Utrecht and Where to Get Accommodation

For international visitors flying into the Netherlands, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is the most practical major airport for Utrecht.

The Netherlands has already hosted several major international events this year, including the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026, which took place in August.

Le Guess Who?'s describes a non-stop Schiphol to Utrecht Centraal service roughly every 15 minutes. NS currently lists the rail trip at about 33 minutes, with direct services available.

For the latest departure times, connections, and route updates, check the official NS train information for Schiphol Airport before you travel.

Train schedules can change around engineering work. Check NS again close to departure instead of relying on a screenshot saved weeks earlier.

Should you stay in Utrecht or Amsterdam?

Utrecht is usually simpler if the festival is the main reason for your trip.

Base

Advantage

Trade-Off

Best For

Utrecht city centre

Easier access after late shows

Rooms can book quickly

Festival-focused visitors

Near Utrecht Centraal

Strong rail access and close to TivoliVredenburg

Train travelers

Amsterdam

Multi-city trips

Amsterdam can work, especially if you're combining the festival with several days there. NS currently runs night trains through the Randstad, including Amsterdam and Utrecht, but check your exact night before relying on them.

If you're planning a future festival trip to the Netherlands, our Lowlands Festival guide also covers practical tips for travel, mobile data, and staying connected at major Dutch music festivals.

If you already know you're attending several late sets, staying in Utrecht cuts out one repeated problem. You don't have to watch the clock while your final artist is still playing.

Festival App, Wristbands, Accessibility and Age Rules

Download the official festival app before November. It lets you browse the lineup, create a personal timetable, receive last-minute updates and use an interactive festival map.

You can also switch between Le Guess Who? and U? inside the app. That personal timetable becomes especially useful once you're comparing artists across several locations.

Where do you collect your wristband?

Holders of a 4-Day Pass or Day Pass must exchange their ticket for a wristband at TivoliVredenburg.

Current festival guidance lists wristband collection from 12:00 to 00:00. You need to collect your own wristband in person, and a ticket on your phone is enough for scanning. Venue Pass holders can go directly to their specific venue.

Accessibility differs by venue

Don't assume each location has the same facilities. The festival says accessibility varies across its venues.

Its accessibility information covers wheelchair access, accessible toilets, parking, and auditory facilities by location. A low-stimulus space is also available in The Pit at TivoliVredenburg.

Visitors who need specific support can contact the festival accessibility team before attending.

What about age restrictions?

The venue-specific rules are clearer than the general child guidance.

WAS is a 21+ venue, while De Helling and KABUL a GoGo are 18+ under the published House Rules.

For younger visitors, check the current rules close to the event. The children under 14 must attend under parental supervision.

The House Rules strongly advise supervision for visitors under 16 and allow children up to 12 to accompany parents or guardians free.

How Much Mobile Data Do You Need for Le Guess Who?

You probably don't need a huge data package just for maps and messages. Video changes things. These are practical estimates, not measured Le Guess Who?

Usage

Suggested Starting Point

Typical Activity

Light

1 to 3 GB

Maps, WhatsApp, festival app, NS updates

Moderate

3 to 5 GB

Above plus social feeds and photo uploads

Heavy

5 to 10+ GB

Video uploads, streaming and hotspot use

If you're unsure which allowance fits your trip, our guide explains how much data you need for travel based on activities such as maps, messaging, social media, and streaming.

Checking a timetable barely touches your allowance compared with uploading several videos from a show.

A power bank may matter just as much as extra gigabytes. Maps, mobile data, photos and the festival app can keep your phone busy for hours.

Stay Connected With an eSIMCard Netherlands eSIM

If you're arriving from abroad, a travel eSIM gives you another option besides roaming, public Wi-Fi, or buying a physical SIM.

You can install an eSIMCard Netherlands eSIM before departure on a compatible, carrier-unlocked phone.

Then use it for maps, festival updates, messages, and NS information after you arrive.

How to check if your phone is eSIM Compatible

You can check quickly and easily to see if your phone is eSIM compatible:

  1. iPhone: Go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Service). If you see Add eSIM, your phone supports it.
  2. Android (Samsung/Pixel): Go to Settings > Connections (or Network & internet) > SIM Manager. If you see Add eSIM, your phone supports it.
  3. Open your phone dialer and type *#06#. If you see an EID number (a long 32-digit number) or an IMEI2, your phone has eSIM capability.

Once you've confirmed compatibility, learn how to get your eSIM QR code and activate your plan before your trip.

Conclusion

At the Le Guess Who festival, you can pick your must-see artists first. Then check their venues before filling every empty hour in your timetable.

Book your accommodation early, download the festival and NS apps, and recheck your ticket details close to departure.

If you want a better internet connection or mobile data, choose what fits your real phone habits.

If you'd rather have data installed before landing, compare the latest eSIMCard plans and check your phone's eSIM compatibility before purchase.
